Tasty tea for tasty tea lovers A memorable tea experience can occur two ways; such is what the Great Tea Lovers we’ve encountered have informed us. Either way is good in itself, but it’s when you combine the two that the warm fuzzy feelings really begin...
One way: A great tea experience is when the tea you’ve chosen is mouth-wettingly good, has flavour that fully meets the expectations of its aromas and you truly delight in your drink. We dedicate our teas to tea drinkers who love these tasty moments and we blend our loose leaves for everyone who appreciates drinking great tea in all its forms, flavours and glorious colours.	Another way... Another great tea experience, as described by our tea friends, happens during moments when having a cup goes beyond just drinking the tea. These are the moments when fond memories are built while sharing tea and time is well spent asking all the important questions such as: What should I do with my life? Should I pack it all in and go travelling? Where is this relationship going? Whose turn is it to do the washing-up? It always seems to be over some time and some tea spent in the company of people we care about, that these questions are answered with a clear head. There are also those occasions when, for the sake of our sanity, we have to be by ourselves. A tea break can be the perfect way to press pause on everything that’s happening in our lives, the perfect opportunity to create a little ‘me-time’. We have been told that what we do with tea is a little bit like alchemy; this would make us a little bit like the alchemists. We don’t have supernatural powers, but we have discovered that when you combine great teas with perfect moments the experiences could be described as a kind of magic! We blend teas that live up to the occasion for all the Tasty Tea Lovers out there (although we do sometimes blend flavours just because we fancy it) and we kindly ask that you enjoy your tea wisely. Your time is precious; keep away from the bad brews and drink your tea for the love of it. (That is to say: drink Yumchaa tea!). Say No to Tea-Bagging We blend and serve only quality loose-leaf tea. Tea leaves contain the essential oils and compounds which provide the basis for a good cup of tea. When the leaves are broken these tasty oils evaporate – therefore the bigger the leaves, the more oils. The typical tea bag purchased in the supermarket contains only tea particles. What we say to our customers is a bit like a science class: broken leaves release the bitter tannins faster so they give the tea its colour but not its flavour. With whole loose-leaves, the tea is allowed to brew properly so its flavour comes out, making a rich, full and smooth drink. Achieving maximum water circulation around the leaves is important as tea laves need room to expand, swell and unfurl. Cramped tea bags restrict this process; even speciality tea bags that hold whole-leaf tea are forced to compromise on infusion and taste. Loose-leaf tea offers the best taste, quality, health benefits and freshness.
